I’m a journalist, producer and researcher. Currently a news assistant at NPR (Morning Edition and Up First), my dream is to report in the field. I want to contribute local, watchdog journalism in the areas that need it the most. My work experience spans print, digital and audio (broadcast and podcast) mediums.

For now, I’m based out of the capital. My roots are in Washington state. I grew up between the shadows of Seattle’s skyscrapers to the West and the Cascade Mountains to the East. Los Angeles is my second home and alma mater (Occidental College).

“What’s your last name? Is it Russian?” Hearing this question throughout my childhood, I traveled from Saint Petersburg, Russia to Kraków, Poland and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan looking for an answer. As a student of the region, the politics, poetry, music and literature captivate me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my work. You’ll find examples of my reporting and writing below. Please reach out: my contact information lives at the bottom of the page.
